We are big foodies and so far one of our greatest food accomplishments has been traveling to Paris to try out 1, 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants where the Michelin star was born. But, that is if I don’t count lunch at the French Laundry during a remarkable trip to Napa in August 2016.

As foodies, most of our money is spent on food and plane tickets to go eat food. A good restaurant is ALWAYS worth the journey.

By “we” I mean me and bae. If there were a list of the five best things in life, having a partner in food and travel would be one of them, no doubt.

I say all of that to say that today, the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” list was announced! The list is mainly a bigger deal this year because it is the first time since 2004 that an American institution won first place and this year, NYC’s very own Eleven Madison Park is No.1! I have yet to try it out but when I do, I promise to share. In the mean time, here is a challenge for 2017:

The list includes restaurants in Mexico City, New York City, Italy, France, Austria, Spain, Peru, Thailand, Singapore, Brazil, Japan… YOU NAME IT! If you find yourself in these countries or cities at some point this year, plan a visit to chosen restaurant for a true life changing dining experience.

If you need a better reason than FOOD to travel and eat, according to the Chinese Horoscope calendar, "2017 is the Female Fire Chicken year. Red is connected to the fire. Therefore, 2017 is also called the year of the Red Chicken or Red Fire Chicken. Chicken is a Female Metal. Female Metal is related to gold, precious gem or jewelry. That means Chicken implies luxury, beauty, and wealth. **shrugs**
