Salsa Saturday's
Today bae and I met with some friends for brunch. We tried out Gemma, next door/part of The Bowery Hotel. It was alright. The day, however, was beautiful. Scorching hot but beautiful. We were in SoHo and the streets were packed with tourists and locals but it was still beautiful. We got a last minute text from a friend inviting us to the 33rd Salsa Festival at The Barclay's Center (which featured some of my favorite salseros like Tito Rojas, Groupo Niche, DLG, WILLIE COLON[!], Jerry Rivera, Eddie Santiago, Frankie Negron, you name it.) This only made me happier about being so comfortable (and cute) in this outfit.
The top, although long sleeve, was cooling, plus I only buttoned two buttons so wind was MAJOR in helping avoid a heat stroke. The skirt, actually, is a 2-piece set from Tobi which I separated to use only the skirt. It was this soft, cotton-like and stretchy material which allowed me to dance my ass off that the Salsa Festival at Barclay's this evening. I wore my converse because I knew I would be dancing and walking a lot. As far as a bag, I refused to have anything hanging off my shoulder between the heat outside and the (metaphorical) heat inside the Barclay's Center, so I went with my clutch from Mexico City.
