Style Icon: Rachel Zoe
Some people will say that flare jeans left fashion for a while but style icon Rachel Zoe has been rocking them effortlessly for the longest. This extremely chic mom of two has gone from a celebrity stylist to a coveted designer. She is the reason I wanted to become a stylist in the first place. She dresses with a high end 70’s goth vibe and layers tons of jewelry. This is the women who wore gold lame gown for a photoshoot that took place in her own home; right up my alley. I wore a black maxi dress with booties because Rachel Zoe wore a black maxi dress with booties.
Zoe styles some of the most notorious actresses and celebrities for everything from red carpet events to daily lifestyle. She began as an editor and quickly turned into the powerhouse that she is today, with NO formal fashion training. For those of you who use to shop with Piperlime.com (RIP) remember she was a contributor on the site, giving her fav looks, which all shed light on her amazing boho-chic style.
In 2009 our style icon started a free daily newspaper the Zoe Report which is EVERYTHING; literally and metaphorically. She covers fashion, beauty, and lifestyle in this incredibly easy, entertaining, and educational read. In 2011, shortly after the launch of Zoe Report, Rachel launched her clothing line and was featured at NYFW. Needless to say, it was and still is a huge success. Pieces are priced on the higher end but def worth the investment! Best part about this fashionista is that she studied in Washington, DC, where this blog is currently published out of and met her lifetime love, whom she is still married to.
If you love fur coats, hats, chunky jewelry, and a closet that consists of mostly black, then Rachel Zoe might be your spirit animal, too.
