My First Time: Plunging Neckline
Shortly before coming out on stage and dancing salsa to a live performance from the Fania All Stars, Justice Sotomayor told Prince Royce that her mother sends him an "I love you".
Junot Diaz said, "All of us must be free, or none." encouraging us creatively and emotionally.
J. Balvin played his hit reggaeton single Ginza as a ballad.
The Mexican mother daughter duo Angelica Maria and Angelica Vale who I grew up watching in telenovelas were also in attendance with a very cute 3rd generation Angelica (Vale's daughter).
Massy Arias, the Dominican Hannah Bronfman (but better) showed off her toned and tattooed body in a beautiful peach colored flowy gown.
This concoction of latin excellence can only happen in one place: the Hispanic Heritage Awards. Because of how important the HHAs are to me every year as a Latina, I decided to try a fashion trend I had yet to do right: a deep, DEEP plunging neckline. The deep-v neckline was featured on a jumpsuit courtesy of the very sexy and classy Galvin London. I am a more or less conservative dresser and any cleavage or anything too short almost immediatley is a no-no. This time around I decided to be a bold and show the girls the light. Haha!
With a neckline like this, tape is your friend! Although as the night goes on, it quickly becomes the enemy. You know what made up for this tough neckline situation, though? The fact that I enjoyed an entire black tie event and multiple parties in pants! I danced the night away in celebration.
